Chronogram or chronology is actually a branch of literature. Imam Ahmad Raza had mastery over this art. He used to
compose chronograms spontaneously. In Hayate Aalahazrat Vol : 1 by Maulana
Zafruddin, there are 17
chronograms on Maulana Naqi Ali Khan, the father of Imam Ahmad Raza. He has composed chronograms in
various styles, in quatrains, couplets etc. He has also composed chronograms by Quranic veres too. As he
has dedicted a chronogram of his birth by the verse of the Holy Quran, so has deducted a chronogram of his
death by this Quranic Verse :-
"And there shall be passed around them silver vessels & goblets which will be bright as glass."
The total of the letters of the verse is 1340. Titles of his most of the books are chronogramical
such as :-
(1) Husamul-Hermain Ala Munharil-kufr-walmain-----1324 (year of writing the book)
(2) Kanzul Iman Fi Tarjumatul- Quran (1330----Do)
(3) Hadiaique-Bakhshish (1325----Do)
(4) Addaulatul Makkiah-bil-Maddatil-Ghaibiah (1324- year of wirting)
(5) Fauze Mobeen Dar Radde Harkate Zameen 1338 (year of writing)
