Commerce, Banking & Economics

Imam Ahmad Raza has thrown light on the Views & principles of business & trade in his Fatawa & writings. In Fatawa Radhvia-vol 11—chapter "Money order & others"-he has presented Islamic view points on trade & legalized the money order fees taken by the post office.
Like wise he has pressented the view point of selling & buying of lands, houses & mortage etc. In Fatawa Radhvia Vol 7 page 111 to 119, he has
discussed on share, Insurance, companies in British India & has proved that the profit which is given by banks & post offices are not usuary or interest but the profit & that is legal as the Govt is not Islamic. In his work "Kiflul Faqihil Fahim" Imam Ahmad Raza has explained the methods of establishing "Interest free Bank" with profit in legal way. In such way Imam Ahmad Raza has played an important role to strengthen the economic system of Muslims & purifed the society with the curse of usuary. In his another Pamphlet "Tadbeere-FAla-ho-Nijat-o Islah" he has putforward four points as a path of Muslim recovery as :-
  • Muslims setting their disputes away them selves thin can save crores of rupees which are wasted in the courts.
  • Muslim should not buy anything from any body other than Muslims So that their profits remain within their community. They should develop their trade & craft so that they may not depend on others for their needs. America and Europe import from us at a cheaper rates and sell the finished products to us at a much higher rate.
  • The rich Muslims of Bombay, Calcutta, Rangoon & Madras should try to establish commercial banks for Muslims. Interest is totally prohibited but there are
hundred of ways to make profit. One such easy way was enunciated in the book "kiflul Faqihil Fahim"

The science of Islam should be propagated and publicised. Dr. Rafi Ullah Siddiqui has reviewed these 4 points in his article " Fazile Barelvi ke Char Ma’ashi Nikaat" (Economic Guidelines of Imam Ahmad Raza ) & proved that Imam Ahmad Raza has derived this equation saving = Capital (wealth)
Many years before J. M. Keyns, the Economist of Britain who was awarded with the little of ‘Lord’. The new Muslim Scholar Dr Muhammad Haroon marhoom reviewed these 4 points in a vast canvass. The points from I to III are related with commerce, Banking & Economics.
After all Imam Ahmad Raza has manifested his skill & mastery over these subjects too.
